Ritual and Material Cycle Stud

What if remembrance itself nourished life?

This design study explores the cemetery as an emotional and material space of remembrance. It reflects on the environmental impact of traditional grave candles, which are often made from petroleum-based plastics or paraffin and remain in the landscape long after their use.

This biodegradable cemetery candle is meant to transform that ritual into one that aligns with natural cycles. My question focuses on changing the narrative of how we leave something on purpose; something not meant to be collected afterwards, something that gives back.
